The Challenge
Users faced friction during everyday money transfers due to unclear flows, excessive steps, and lack of transparency around transaction status. Trust was eroded by confusing error states and non-descriptive feedback.
My Role
Led UX research through user interviews and competitive audit. Designed all user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity screens. Collaborated on handoff documentation with the dev team.
What I Found
5 user interviews revealed the biggest drop-off point: users abandoned transfers mid-flow when they couldn't tell if their action had been registered
Anxiety around money movement demanded immediate, clear feedback at every step
The Solution
Redesigned the payment flow with a 3-step model: initiate, confirm, done. Clear progress indicators, real-time feedback, and explicit error states reduced cognitive load and improved transaction confidence significantly.
