The Challenge
Modern sports apps overwhelm users with bloated articles and clickbait, burying actual news. Additionally, news consumption alone often fails to build strong daily retention habits.
My Role
Led end-to-end UX/UI design. Designed the core 60-word personalized feed, intuitive swipe-to-read mechanics, and the gamified 'Player of the Day' (POTD) feature.
What I Found
Analysis revealed users want fast, fact-packed news without filler
Habit loop analysis also highlighted that adding a daily trivia challenge drastically increases 7-day retention
The Solution
Created a clutter-free, personalized feed with an infinite-scroll swipe mechanic. Integrated the 'Player of the Day' trivia game using progressive hints to create a rewarding daily reason to return.
